Northern Construction Service, LLC is a Massachusetts based General Contractor specializing in bridge construction, site work, marine construction, concrete work and utilities. Northern has projects throughout New England and New York. John L. DiVito and John N. Rahkonen founded Northern in 1993, since then the company has experienced steady growth, along with a reputation for quality workmanship.
From the very beginning their unique talents and experience have been the driving force in creating a company with the reputation of responsible ownership and finding creative solutions for delivering a finished product built to last. As a result we have many clients who have used our services repeatedly throughout the years, as well as referring us to others. We embrace challenging projects allowing our employees to utilize their special talents and we take great pride in delivering a quality, finished product.
Our clients include Federal, State and Municipal agencies as well as private industrial and utility organizations. We are pre-qualified with the Massachusetts Highway Department and the Connecticut Department of Transportation and we maintain excellent relationships with our bonding and insurance companies along with our bank and vendors.

Our Team
Northern currently has 80 employees and maintains offices in Weymouth and Palmer, MA, John DiVito of our Weymouth office is the General Manager and Chief Estimator. John Rahkonen of our Palmer office is the General Superintendent. From the staff in the field to the administrative support we have an exceptional team that takes pride in every aspect of the business and we in turn make every effort to provide our employees with all the tools necessary for a safe and healthy work environment.

We have an extensive inventory of equipment at our disposal, allowing us to get the job done. Our equipment is maintained and serviced in our own shop so we can be assured that everything is operating in a safe and dependable manner. Equipment leasing is another component of our business. The list of company owned equipment includes backhoes, bulldozers, excavators, loaders, rollers and off-highway trucks. The company also keeps a large inventory of generators, pumps, small tools and machines.
