Bridge replacement and repair is an important aspect of our work. We have completed an extensive list of projects for the Massachusetts Highway Department, the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority and the Army Corp of Engineers, along with many cities and towns. We recently completed a historic covered bridge rehabilitation in Colrain, Massachusetts. This project consisted of the complete rehabilitation of the historic 100-foot long Arthur A. Smith covered bridge. Timbers were replaced using authentic mortise and tendon connections in order to replicate the original construction. Decking and siding were replaced. The original slate roof was restored and the bridge was rolled out over the North River, and installed on its abutments. The (Indian) Bridge Replacement, Route 2, Charlemont, Massachusetts consisted of a complete concrete deck replacement and structural steel repairs to a 300-foot bridge spanning the Deerfield River. Care was taken to minimize traffic interference on this important roadway. Our list of completed bridge work is extensive and varied. Our experience allows us to complete these projects as quickly and efficiently as possible with minimal traffic interruption.
