ABC and the Randolph Bridge Project
Route 24 connects the South Shore of Massachusetts with Boston, handling about 135,000 vehicles daily. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) hired Northern Construction to replace the highway’s northbound and southbound bridges over Canton Street in Randolph.
The new Route 24 bridges had to open on time and with minimal commuter inconveniences. Northern Construction replaced both bridges in two weekends in April and May 2024, leveraging multiple ABC techniques, including:
